Check the source of information to make better correctly informed decisions

When someone makes a claim or provides some information, never take it on face value.

Especially when you have no personal point of reference to what is being said or claimed.

If possible, check their credentials and ensure whoever is providing that information is “qualified” to give that information?

Are they an authority in what is being said or claimed?

Use critical thinking to understand where that information is coming from.

This way you can be more sure to make better decisions yourself, having checked out the facts

UFO sightings coming down…!?!

Apparently reports of UFO sightings have been coming down of late and UFO skeptics are questioning why this is? Because if there ARE UFO’s out there, surely the reports should be going up and not down, because there are so many more cameras out there, as everyone has one on a smartphone.

Well could it be down to the fact that people are actually looking "down" more instead of looking up at the sky, because of their smart phones?  So if there is anything strange in the sky, nobody is actually spotting it!

This problem isn’t just affecting UFO reports, as there are less and less proper conversation and interaction between people, because of the distraction of the smart phones. Whilst phones are a blessing on one hand as they have brought the world to the palm of our hand, they are a curse on the other, by reducing proper interactions between on another.

This is prevalent in the younger generation and they are losing the art and skill of face to face communication.

How do you define yourself?

I have attended countless non-business meetings where there is an obligatory introduction of all the delegates to one another. Pretty much every single time, even though it is NOT a business meeting, everyone starts off with their name and then say, “and I am a … xxx” or “and I work at…xxx” (where xxx is their job).

We should not be defining who we are by our job! The job is a part of our life and may be a very important part for some, but it isn’t OUR life!

We need to define who we are as a person first and bring in what you do for a as a job later perhaps?

Here’s a better example… “I’m a husband to a wonderful wife and father to two boys. I have always enjoyed working with computers and thankfully the career I have taken has allowed me to follow my passion of working with computers and I now work in the IT industry”

We appear to make the job define who we are, which is incorrect! The job is merely an aspect of our life, but it isn’t OUR life! We must remember that.

No one is better than you!

Others may have achieved more, or been a success in whatever endeavor they have focused on, but that doesn’t make them better than you!

All it highlights is that they have made some better choices and backed those choices with action.

So you too could make the same choices – it’s up to you! The choice is yours!

The Door to Success Is Not Locked

Many of us have a door to success that we believe is locked for us. So success is not accessible.

In reality, this is false. The locked door is just inside our heads. The door is not locked and can be opened anytime by us, we just need the courage to act and open the door and step right through it.

Whilst I appreciate that some people don’t have the strength yet to open the door fully, but would rather open it a little, and peak around the door and then close it again. This is perfectly fine, because you may not yet be ready to make that step.

But when you are ready, just take the action and step on through that door, because success is there waiting for you. It’s waiting for you to just ACT.

Why does having more than one income stream make an employee, potentially better?

When an employee has just one job, all their “eggs” are in one basket – the job basket.
The employee is not the boss of the company, so are effectively handing that basket of eggs to the employer to hold. So subconsciously they know that they have to toe the line in their job and not do anything that will upset their employer unduly, because there could then be a chance that the employer figuratively "drops the basket of eggs" and gets rid of the employee.
The employer may believe that having the employee focus only on them means they get a loyal employee, but they are missing a key ingredient here.
The employer is paying for someone to give what the job description may ask for, when in reality the employer may prefer a member of staff who can contribute "more" than the simple job description and contribute to the whole company and business moving forward.
For this to happen, the employee needs to feel very secure in their position or have multiple income streams to offset that potential insecurity.
So in a job where an employee only has one form of income, the employee may be holding something back and not be totally true to themselves, because of a fear deeply rooted in their brain. This fear is there to remind them that if they do something that displeases their employer, they will lose their job and obviously the money that comes with it.
Now if the employee has other forms of income, they tend to feel more secure and thus empowered to speak their mind and therefore “shine” when the opportunity is called for.
This means the employer is getting a better employee that is indeed more valuable and is able to express themselves positively with fresh ideas and suggestions, rather than someone who is more cautious and doesn’t offer the same.
