How do you define yourself?
I have attended countless non-business meetings where there is an obligatory introduction of all the delegates to one another. Pretty much every single time, even though it is NOT a business meeting, everyone starts off with their name and then say, “and I am a … xxx” or “and I work at…xxx” (where xxx is their job).
We should not be defining who we are by our job! The job is a part of our life and may be a very important part for some, but it isn’t OUR life!
We need to define who we are as a person first and bring in what you do for a as a job later perhaps?
Here’s a better example… “I’m a husband to a wonderful wife and father to two boys. I have always enjoyed working with computers and thankfully the career I have taken has allowed me to follow my passion of working with computers and I now work in the IT industry”
We appear to make the job define who we are, which is incorrect! The job is merely an aspect of our life, but it isn’t OUR life! We must remember that.
No one is better than you!
Others may have achieved more, or been a success in whatever endeavor they have focused on, but that doesn’t make them better than you!
All it highlights is that they have made some better choices and backed those choices with action.
So you too could make the same choices – it’s up to you! The choice is yours!
The Door to Success Is Not Locked
Many of us have a door to success that we believe is locked for us. So success is not accessible.
In reality, this is false. The locked door is just inside our heads. The door is not locked and can be opened anytime by us, we just need the courage to act and open the door and step right through it.
Whilst I appreciate that some people don’t have the strength yet to open the door fully, but would rather open it a little, and peak around the door and then close it again. This is perfectly fine, because you may not yet be ready to make that step.
But when you are ready, just take the action and step on through that door, because success is there waiting for you. It’s waiting for you to just ACT.
Want to make your dreams come true?
You only need 3 things…
1. A goal with a date
2. A plan of action
3. And some determined persistent, consistent WORK!
